Neil Moore was born in Leicester, England in 1950. From 1968 he studied painting at Loughborough College of Art and Design in Leicestershire, and in 1972 he was awarded a Diploma in Art and Design (Fine Art- Painting). Afterwards Neil toured Europe and North America and lectured part-time at Burleigh Community College, Loughborough. Neil moved to Leamington Spa in 1973 and became a part-time lecturer at Warwickshire College. From 1974 he travelled with the Merchant Navy as Artist at Sea with the Seafarers Education Service, on voyages to the Far East, Middle East, Africa, the Caribbean and Scandinavia. In 1976 he returned to Leamington Spa and resumed part-time lecturing at Warwickshire College. In 1979 Neil married contemporary jeweller Jane Birks. He is presently living and working in Leamington Spa, painting, parenting (they have three children) and teaching part-time at Warwickshire College.
